Who We Are
Perknomad is a residential renovation business operating across the Perth metropolitan area in Western Australia. We handle renovation enquiries, site measures, quotations, and the delivery of building works for private homeowners, landlords and property managers.
This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it, how we store it, and what you can do if you want it changed or deleted. It applies to everyone who contacts us, requests a quote, signs a contract, or simply browses this website.
If you have any question about how your information is handled, you can reach us by phone, by email, or by post using the contact details published in the footer of this website.
What Personal Information We Collect
We only collect information that is genuinely needed to quote, schedule or complete renovation work. In most cases that means:
- Contact details — your name, phone number, email address and the address of the property to be renovated.
- Project information — photos of the room, rough dimensions, your preferred timeline, and the finishes or materials you have in mind.
- Contract details — signed agreements, variation approvals, invoices and payment records.
- Site records — inspection notes, waterproofing certificates, compliance paperwork and progress photos used for quality control.
- Website data — basic technical information such as the pages you viewed and the device you used, collected through standard web server logs.
We do not collect sensitive information such as health data, racial or ethnic origin, political opinions, or religious beliefs, and we do not need it to complete a renovation.
How We Collect Information
The majority of information we hold comes directly from you — through a phone call, an enquiry form on this website, an email, or a conversation on site. We may also receive information from third parties in a narrow set of circumstances:
- From a real estate agent or property manager who is arranging works on behalf of a landlord.
- From a builder or trade partner who is subcontracting part of a job to us.
- From a supplier who needs to confirm delivery to your address.
We do not buy or rent mailing lists, and we do not purchase personal information from data brokers.
Why We Use Your Information
Your information is used to prepare accurate quotes, order the correct materials, schedule trades, meet our legal obligations as a licensed building contractor, and provide warranty support afterwards. Specifically, we use it to:
- Contact you about your enquiry and arrange a site measure.
- Prepare a written, itemised quotation for the work requested.
- Order cabinetry, stone, tiles, fixtures and other materials to your specification.
- Coordinate trades, deliveries and inspections on the agreed dates.
- Issue invoices, receipts and compliance documentation.
- Honour the workmanship warranty on completed jobs.
- Comply with record-keeping obligations under Australian building and tax law.
We do not use your information for unrelated marketing campaigns, and we will never sell or rent your details to another business.
Sharing, Storage and Security
We share your information only with the people who need it to complete the job. That may include our own tradespeople, our stonemason, our electrician and plumber, delivery drivers, and our accountant. Every trade partner we use is bound by confidentiality and only sees the details relevant to their part of the work.
Records are stored in a secure cloud accounting system and in locked physical files at our office. Access is limited to the small number of people who need it. We keep project records for a minimum of seven years to meet tax and warranty requirements, and then securely destroy what is no longer needed.
While no online system is completely immune to risk, we apply reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information, including access controls, password protection and encrypted backups.
Your Rights and How to Contact Us
You have the right to ask what personal information we hold about you, to have incorrect details corrected, and to request deletion where we are not legally required to keep a record. You can also ask us to stop using your information for any purpose that is not essential to the job.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us in writing with enough detail for us to identify your records. We will respond within a reasonable timeframe, normally within 30 days.
If you believe your privacy has been mishandled, please raise it with us directly first so we have the chance to resolve it. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner, which oversees the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).
This policy may be updated from time to time as our business practices or legal obligations change. The current version is always available on this page.
